Getting Started

RSL WA Workforce Connect is a dedicated employment support service that helps veterans, current ADF members transitioning to civilian life, and their families find meaningful work. We connect candidates with employers across Western Australia, drawing on our deep understanding of the skills and values that veterans bring to the workplace.

Getting started is straightforward — simply complete our Expression of Interest (EOI) form. Once we receive your EOI, a member of our team will be in touch within 3 business days to discuss your goals, experience, and how we can best support you on your employment journey.

  1. We get in touch. A member of our team will contact you within 3 business days to introduce themselves and learn more about your background and employment goals.
  2. We assess your needs. Together we will identify where you are in your employment journey — whether you are ready to apply for roles straight away or need some support to get there first.
  3. We build a plan. We will put together a tailored action plan that may include resume writing, interview preparation, training pathways, or direct referrals to employers in our network.
  4. We support you throughout. We stay with you through the process –  from applications and interviews to starting your new role and beyond.

There is absolutely no cost to candidates. Our services – from registration through to job placement – are completely free of charge. We are here to support you, not charge you.

Our services are open to:

  • Veterans at any stage of their post-service career
  • Current ADF members transitioning to civilian employment
  • Families and spouses of veterans and serving members

If you are unsure whether you qualify, please reach out – we are happy to have a conversation.

  • Veterans who served at least one full day in the Australian Defence Force.

  • Partners and immediate family members of ADF personnel, including serving, ex-serving and deceased veterans.

  • Reservists who have served at least one full day in the Australian Defence Force.

  • If you are an Allied veteran requiring employment support, please contact us for further information.

Employment Support

We work with employers across all sectors and industries — from mining, construction, and logistics to healthcare, technology, government, and small business. Our employer network spans Western Australia, and we are continually growing our partnerships so that we can match candidates with opportunities that suit their skills and aspirations.

That is completely okay. We regularly support candidates who are not yet job ready, and we will work with you at your own pace. Whether you need time to build confidence, address personal circumstances, or simply figure out where to start, we can help you develop a plan and put the right supports in place before you begin your job search.

Absolutely. If you do not have a resume — or if it needs updating — we can help you write one from scratch. We understand how to translate military experience, training, and qualifications into a language that resonates with civilian employers, so your skills are presented in the best possible light.

Yes. In addition to direct employment support, we offer pathways to further education and training. Whether you want to formalise your existing skills, gain a new qualification, or upskill for a career change, we can connect you with the right training options and support you through the process.

Families and Partners

Yes. We recognise that military life affects the whole family, including partners and spouses who may have had their own careers interrupted by postings, deployments, or relocation. RSL WA Workforce Connect extends its employment support to the families of veterans and serving members — including resume assistance, job matching, and pathways to training.

Yes. Family members of current serving ADF personnel are welcome to register and access our support services. You do not need to wait until your family member has transitioned out of the ADF to get started.

Still have questions? Our team is happy to help. Reach out to us directly or complete the EOI form and we will be in touch.

About RSL WA Workforce Connect

RSL WA Workforce Connect is a not-for-profit employment and recruitment service that connects employers with skilled veterans and family members seeking meaningful employment. Unlike traditional recruitment agencies, we operate as a genuine recruitment partner — taking the time to understand your business, identify your workforce needs, and carefully match candidates who can add real value to your organisation.

Any revenue we generate is reinvested directly into veteran employment, education, and wellbeing initiatives. Our priority is creating successful, long-term employment outcomes — not maximising placement fees.

Traditional recruiters are often volume-driven and transactional. We are not. As a not-for-profit, our focus is on quality, fit, and long-term outcomes for both employers and candidates. We invest time in understanding your organisation before recommending anyone, and we provide ongoing support throughout the placement — not just up to the point of hire.

Partnering with us also means your organisation actively contributes to supporting the veteran community, which many of our employer partners find genuinely meaningful.

We work with businesses of all sizes across all sectors and industries — from large mining and resources companies to small and medium enterprises in healthcare, construction, logistics, technology, government, retail, and more. Our flexible approach means we can tailor our service to suit your organisation’s specific hiring needs, regardless of scale.

The Candidates

Our candidates come from diverse military and civilian backgrounds and bring a wide range of highly transferable skills. Veterans are known for their professionalism, commitment, and ability to perform under pressure. Key capabilities include:

  • Leadership and team management
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Adaptability and resilience
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Safety, compliance, and risk management experience
  • Technical, operational, and project management expertise

Yes. We work closely with every candidate before making any referral. This includes assessing their skills, experience, readiness for work, and career goals. We only refer candidates we are confident are a genuine match for the role and your organisation — so you can be assured that any candidate we put forward has been thoughtfully considered for your specific needs.

Working with RSL WA Workforce Connect

  • Access to pre-screened, job-ready candidates with proven transferable skills
  • A personalised recruitment service tailored to your workforce needs
  • Flexible and cost-effective hiring solutions suited to businesses of all sizes
  • Ongoing support throughout the placement process — not just up to hire
  • The opportunity to support the veteran community while strengthening your workforce
  • A not-for-profit partner whose priority is long-term outcomes, not placement fees
  1. We get to know your business. We start with a conversation to understand your organisation, your culture, and your specific hiring needs.
  2. We identify suitable candidates. From our pool of pre-screened veterans and veteran family members, we match candidates whose skills and experience align with your requirements.
  3. We make the introduction. We facilitate the connection between you and your shortlisted candidates, supporting both parties through the interview and selection process.
  4. We stay involved. Our support doesn’t stop at placement. We remain available to both you and the candidate after hiring to help ensure the transition is a success.

We offer a flexible and tailored fee approach to each employer partnership. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model, we work with you to find an arrangement that reflects the nature and scale of your hiring needs. As a not-for-profit, any fees collected are reinvested into veteran employment, education, and wellbeing — so your investment goes further than a standard recruitment transaction.

To discuss pricing, simply get in touch and we will walk you through the options.
